Kimchi Adventures 38 - Sasaeng Fans

HELLO!! sorry long time no post!! I know =( I’ve been super busy with other things and life has been the same HAHAHAA but SOMETHING NEW HAS COME UP!! ^^ from the news! maybe most kpop fans would know about this but to others..its relative new……

WHAT IS A SASAENG FAN?

a Sasaeng fan is a fan that is pretty much what we call a “stalker” they would do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to get close to their favorite IDOL groups.

In the most recent news..We have heard about JYJ’s Sasaeng fans and how the singers themselves cussed them out, hit them, and etc.  We might wonder..”hitting them is BAD we shouldn’t be hitting them!!” but when you hear what they do..you would probably do the same….if not more..

Sasaeng fans:

- They Stalk them 24/7
- According to a manager of idol’s for 10 years, they spread their urine and fecal all over the front door..to mark their territory.
- They know their idol’s phone number..no matter HOW MANY TIMES the CELEBRITY changes their cellphone..they call them right back…O_O
- They don’t care if they get hit by the manager or by the artists themselves, they think that getting hit is AWESOME because it is from the IDOLS or the IDOL’S MANAGERS themselves..
- One fan hit a JYJ member because she wanted him to REMEMBER HER o_o
- They always manage to break into the artist’s apartment and take pictures of themselves in their apartment and send it to the artists
- Other fans write them letters with their blood or their menstruation blood O_O..

There’s so much more that they do..but that’s how crazy they are..I’m always wondering if they ever go to school…O_O or they just fail classes..or maybe they’re so smart they don’t need to study hahahaa ..but either way..WHERE”S THE PARENTS IN ALL OF THIS?! shouldn’t you be doing something about your KIDS?!

Nope..not in Korean Society..they’re too busy working their butts off and making money for their children to even teach them etiquette, manners, morals, and etc.  They think money is more important than teaching their child that.  Something is DEF wrong..=/…and that’s why their child having no attention at home find other ways to have fun because there’s no one at home.  Sigh…

Kimchi Adventures 37 - An update..=D

Hello!! I haven’t posted anything in awhile..haha because nothing interesting has crossed my mind nor have I been doing anything special.  Except for the fact that I’M LEAVING TO GO HOME!! in 25 days!! I’m so excited ^^ Well for those who don’t know my plan here it goes

Oct 28 - Nov 4: San Jose to see my lovely sister and cousin
Nov 4 - Nov 18: Off to see my friends and family in SOCAL..specifically LA and Riverside/LLU
Nov 18 - Dec 28: Will be in Vancouver

And then I’ll be back in Seoul after that again for another 6 more months =)

So what have I been doing for the past month or so? Nothing.

HAHAA I’ve been using Uncle Joseph’s camera that he gave me ^^ and taking some awesome pictures like these!

I’ve been doing photoshoots and things like that and I love the camera!! but I really need to buy a new lens.  But that won’t happen until probably after january sometime since I’ll be going back home and resting and already using up tons of money >.< so I’ll wait till next year sometime to get new lenses =)

On other news I’m going to my first KOREAN WEDDING! yay!! i’ll be blogging about it soon enough.  But my friend is getting married ^^ so YAAY congrats to her!! I’ll be able to go to my first korean wedding LOL!!

And I also got sick..like almost at the right time!! Because I got sick on saturday and its a long weekend so I don’t have to teach today! so I have been resting for the past 2 days @_@ with a serious cold =/..I woke up on sunday and pretty much almost slept all day…so yea I need this break badly!!! but other than that..nothing special ^^…except I’LL BE VISITING EVERYONE in 25 days!!!!!! yaaaaaaaaaaaaay =D hahahaha I’ll see you all soon =D

Kimchi Adventures 36 - Kpop Concert Etiquette =P

ALRIGHT!!! I HAVE BEEN TO 4 Korean Concerts….and THEY ARE VERY DIFFERENT from the western Concerts…hahahahaha so IF YOU EVER want to attend a Kpop Concert…read this and you’ll be HAPPY YOU DID!! =)

1. KNOW THE SONGS

Like Most concerts that you go to..you MUST know the songs if you don’t know..well then you’re gonna be missing out..THOUGH I DONT KNOW KOREAN well..but I do know the english parts as well as some of the korean parts as well..=D so LISTEN TO KPOP SONGS BEFORE YOU ATTEND THE CONCERT to get a better feel of it..=)

2. Know some of the dance moves ;)

ITS NOT REQUIRED hahaha but sometimes in some of the concerts artists have their distinct moves that fans do as well..so when the artists use that dance move the fans will do it too…such as 2ne1’s “I don’t care” finger movement in the chorus or Big Bang’s “Baby Baby” with the hand motion on both sides hahahaha to the air…LOL things like that if you don’t know it you’ll kinda feel like an idiot LOL, cause ALL THE FANS do that when they sing those songs =)

3. Always buy a glowstick

I don’t care if you have to spend some money..but PLEASE that GLOWSTICK is your BEST FRIEND..hahahaha and also your concert souvenir..MOST fans have the glowstick and we wave it around to the beat during the concert..=D hahahhaa and its actually REALLY COOL when the whole concert arena is dark and its the glowsticks waving around and if you don’t have one..you wouldn’t feel right..

5. Don’t be greedy when buying tickets

When you want to purchase tickets for an IDOL concert on Gmarket or interpark..don’t be greedy and try to get front seat tickets..cause 90% of the time you won’t get those tickets unless you got fast internet, computer, and hands.  Instead PICK for the seats that NO ONE would usually go for first, and be CONTENT WITH GOING TO THESE CONCERTS..because IDOL CONCERTS sell out in less than 5 minutes..so for you to even GET THE TICKETS is already a miracle in itself…=) And the max I could usually get is 2 tickets..if you can get 4 tickets than more power to you..but it is VERY VERY DIFFICULT

6. HIDE your CAMERAS in your clothes pockets

Don’t wanna get your cameras confiscated?! just put them in your pant or sweater pockets..YG Family and many other IDOL CONCERTS are anal when it comes to cameras..SO they ALWAYS check your bags..I got checked twice this time..but guess what they don’t CHECK? your body..so if you can…hide your CAMERA in your pockets and you’ll be able to sneak in some pictures and videos..but don’t use FLASH if you do..they’ll have you delete whatever you took…and they’ll WATCH YOU delete it…its happened to me before..trust me

7. Bring a poster if you want =)

MANY FANS bring posters to the concert..and if you make a cool poster with a cool sign especially for international fans who are there..they LOVE foreigners who are fans so if you make signs with things like that you can be on CAMERA ^^ woo!! =) and you’ll be noticed….

8. Get there a bit early..

If you want to buy merchandise or other goodies from the artist go there early to line up..and then figure out where you need to line up to get in…its always good to go there early and try to figure things out and wait it out instead of rushing and not knowing where to go ^^

9. Kpop Fans LOVE THEIR CHANTS!

Fans all around..if they love something and are a fan of something or someone..they will have a chant for it..AND SO IDOL STARS have these fan chants..so when you hear them chant..you should try and listen and go along with it hahahaha..XD its crazy cool!! and you’ll be like WHAA how do they come up with these chants?! I have no idea..O_O hahaha but yea go along with it and chant with them ^^

10. Finally..ENJOY the concert

Yes..sometimes taking pictures and videos are good but soak in and feel the moment that you’re ACTUALLY THERE AT AN IDOL CONCERT..=) and sing with the artists and if you have a chance give them a high five hahahaha when they are going around and meeting fans ;)

I hope you like this critical information..if anyone wants to know on how to actually purchase tickets to concerts..feel free to message me ^^..and no I’m not korean..I BARELY knew how to first purchase tickets on a korean website..but with my friend’s help I was able to figure it out in a matter of time..so if you need help let me know!! =)

HAHAHA AND GUESS WHO WAS THE SPECIAL GUEST?!?!?! OF COURSE TAE YANG!! oh my word hahahaa you don’t know how excited I was (fangirl moment here too) LOL when Minji Performed Nanmanabarabwa..I was like NO WAY TAEYANG IS HERE TOO!! and so he of course performed the above set..AND AFTER HE PERFORMED he moved to watch the concert like 5 rows in front of us..and a few seats to my left..partying it up AHAHA and dancing to Clap your hands XD..LOL! he’s SUPER ENERGETIC and fun =).  OH and as they were leaving I saw GDRAGON TOO!! I was like that guy looks familiar..sure enough it was GDragon =)..

So after the Concert..of course they had 2 encore songs..AND GUESS WHERE THE ENCORE WAS AT?! NEAR WHERE WE WERE STANDING!! woo!! Because we were the second row to the fire lane that they were at..so we were at arms length…and so we saw them UP CLOSE and yes they are TINY and skinny AHAHAHHAA XD they were all caked with make up of course hahaha but never the less still smiling..HAAH I just remember DARA smiling ALOT she was probably the happiest of the bunch and my friend -_- got a high five from minji sigh..so lucky LOL!! but anyways they were all JUST LIKE on TV but I think prettier ^^..

RANDOM STORY:  So my friend and I were lining up to buy glowsticks..and I REALLY REALLY WANTED A GLOWSTICK cause in a CONCERT if you don’t have one..you’ll look like an idiot..ahhahaha SOOO I was gonna go buy one..but IENDED UP PURCHASING a SIGNED CD…in this case I would’ve been like OMG SIGNED CD YAY..but I don’t know if it was the HEAT or whatever..but I was like “I WANT A GLOWSTICK NOT A SIGNED CD!!!” LMAO so I ended up purchasing the glowstick AND also the signed cd LMAO…I was like…@__@ SIGNED CD is good..but NOT AS GOOD AS THE GLOWSTICK (crazy fool I KNOW! people would want the signed cd AHAHHAAHAHA)….

Kimchi Adventures 34 - Liberation Long Weekend!

Hellooooooooo once again! =) This summer has been SO BUSY! with Summer Camps going on and then everything flashing by me in seconds! O_O…haha well not really.  But anyways we were lucky to FINALLY get a Public Holiday this summer and be able to rest…but…I didn’t really @_@ hahaha

My God Brother Caleb, and his mom came to visit Seoul, and me and stayed in my house for 3 weeks just sight seeing and traveling!! woo!! and so finally since I had this long weekend I got to take Caleb to 2 places that he hasn’t been to yet…

Hongdae, Kangnam

When we first went to Kangnam, it was hustling and busting, we waited for an hour to get a table at Primo Bacio Baci, which BTW is a REALLY GOOD RESTAURANT, you guys should all go eat there if you want italian food here in Seoul.  However because it was RAINING @_@ we didn’t get to see much so pooey =(

The next day was ALOT BETTER, though it was cloudy however there really wasn’t much rain when we got to HONGDAE, so we decided to look around since it was nearby Honggik University, and Honggik University is an Art school.  So of course Art = Weird and interesting things to see right?! in the beginning we were going there just to see the Fringe Festival that was happening, but they weren’t set up yet -_-..So we decided to walk around the neighborhoods and got lost on the way.. HOWEVER we found this CUTE CAFE that lets you color a ceramic Doll, apparently its a popular cafe cause there’s a lot of celebs that’s been there and there are long line ups to color your own Ceramic Doll…Well here’s mine @_@..hahahaha for everyone that knows me..I SUCK AT DRAWING..so this was the best I could come up with =P

and RIGHT BEFORE Caleb’s mom left, they really REALLY wanted to try Ginseng Chicken..also known as 삼게탕 so I went to a pretty well known restaurant near the palace area. and there were LINE UPS FOR THIS RESTAURANT, thankfully we only had to wait for about 20 mins, because the restaurant was HUGE on the inside.  Anyways for those who visit me and want to try this place let me know =P I’ll take you ^^

Anyways on Liberation Day, which was a Monday I did 2 things! =) First I went to Incheon…IT WAS a 1.5 hour trip from my station to there! @_@ oh my goodness hahaha anyways we trekked there, and Janice and I stayed over night at July’s place.  The next day we went to 월미도 (Wol mi do) it is a famous Island there, and so they had a boardwalk area right beside the waters and small amusement parks there.  So of course we went there and had LOTS AND LOTS OF FUN ^^

After we went there, I quickly stopped by Chinatown and took a picture hahah. 

I headed back to Seoul and met up with my 4 BFFS and the 2 bad girls hahahhaa those are my nicknames to them =) anyways we had lots of food and I got to spend time with them ^^ because I didn’t get to go to the Seoul Main camp which everyone went to but me =).

Yay that’s it ^^ hope I have more fun adventures with my bffs LOL! We just call each other that because apparently they LOVE ACRONYMS O__O…like….some they made up

HELLO!!! I’m back to finally update more things about korean culture =) WOOP WOOP!! I hope you like this one just as much as you liked the relationship one and the one about a man’s stress =) hahaha

Today’s TOPIC:
AEGYO

You’re probably wondering what this is all about..well let me tell you =) hahahaha Aegyo is when a younger girl/guy wants something so they start to act cute to get what they want… from their “OPPA/NUNA” if you remember those phrases those are the names you call someone who’s older than you usually…so let me give you an example

Girl: OPPPAAAAAAAAAAA CAn you buy me COFFEE?! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?
Guy: oooook lets goo

or

Guy: NUNNNAAA buy me rice..pleaaaaaaaase?
Girl: ok lets goo

SO if you act AEGYO it like I guess softens their heart and they’ll buy you food or something..you can use it on your boyfriend/girlfriend or your brother/sister as well as between friends……………………………yes…so really its

“TO ACT CUTE TO GET WHAT YOU WANT”

To be honest…ahhahaa I HAAAAAAAAAATEEE that LOL!! I shiver in discomfort and fear and I just get SO ANNOYED when I hear girls especially say that to their friends or boyfriends..like SERIOUSLY? can’t you just ask?! withouth having to ACT CUTE or TRY?! when it CLEARLY doesn’t work..or it sounds SOOOOOOOOOOOO ANNOYING..gah i realized that that is actually one of my pet peeves..when they TRY to act cute to get what they want..I mean WE all do that sometimes like for certain situations..like if a friend is on the way to buy coffee then you ask cutely and kindly if they could bring you back one..=) things like that..but they do it ALL THE TIMEEEEEEEEEe..GAH!!! @__@..

However to Koreans its cute..and I guess you do get what you want…so they told me that I should try and do that sometime..so that I could get free food..BUT WHY WOULD I HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THAT TROUBLE and DEGRADE MYSELF to that LEVEL to act AEGYO?! nope..I’m not doing that..>=( not even for free food..i got my own moneyy foooo LOL!!! I’m kidding..but yea they asked me to do that and my first reaction was “OH HELL NO” ahaha literally…I don’t like it..so if you ever watch korean dramas..or variety shows..when celebrities act “aegyo” haha thats usually what they refer too..and if they act all cute..then that is called “aegyo” =)

Kimchi Adventures 32 - Summer Camp, NOLZA!!

Hello World,

Sorry I haven’t updated in SO LONG.  Why? Because I’ve been SUPER BUSY for the last 2 weeks that I haven’t been able to update this thing until now!! So what has kept me busy?!

My FNF sermon 2 weeks ago that I had to prepare, talking about my life story.  And then Summer Camp last week that we had to prepare.  =) but lets talk about summer camp shall we =)

These are just some of the pictures from my summer camp folder =).  AHAHA..Anyways Summer camp was SUCCESSFUL!! I had so much fun, though it was kinda stressful on my part because I got dumped with a bunch of duties, such as taking care of the girl’s housing, and then directing a bus and all sorts of random coordinator duties that they asked us to do..cause my other coordinator was even busier prepping for other things..so I think I lost like 2lbs LOL!

Thursday:
We had our own local camp..so what we did was do various camps and activities around our own school.  We had 2 games, 1 scavenger hunt area and then an acting movie scene one..AHAHAHA it was pretty entertaining..

Friday:
At 10 am we departed from Seoul and drove to Yangpyeong english village.  The one that I’ve been talking about in my blogs, the same location where the Boys over Flowers drama was being filmed..yup thats the one.  We arrived at around 1 ish and we had lectures and stuff.  I had to figure out housing rooms for the girls side and then I had to bring them to different areas, and all that.  LOL it was fun! =) At night I got to hang out and talk to some of the students that I haven’t really talked to.  OH YES and we brought 50 students.  So seoul main had about 80 PEOPLE that went to camp.  The LARGEST =)

Saturday:
We had church. I got woken up by THE LONGEST ALARM EVER GRRRRR..at 6 am @_@…that intercom thing went off for like 30 min and I swear I wanted to kill whoever left that thing on for 30 min AHAHAA..anyways we went to church and all that.  Weather was GREAT!! =) no RAIN!! I was happy about that.  Though it was humid and hot @_@.  In the afternoon, I helped the AY’s out with the food booth..OH MY WORD so many people we had to serve! AHAHA!! =(..and then at night we hung out with our students..FREAKING KOREANS and their GAMES!! ahahahaha we played some really funny games..

NO SHOWING TEETH GAME:

So this one WAS HILARIOUS..we had to all not show our teeth…and we had to pick a name for ourselves..we say our name twice and then we say another person’s name twice without showing our teeth..LMAO at the PEOPLE’S FACES!!! and if you mess up and laugh and show teeth then you must get punished

That was the only new game that I knew..ahahaha after that I went over to my friend’s place and talked for awhile =)

OH hahaha and I met 4 guys LOL! that called themselves F4 from the boys over flowers drama LMAO hahaha just cause they always hung out I asked them if they had a group name for fun..and they named themselves F4 -_- LMAO hahahha and I was known as the main character Kim Jandi..cause they always made fun of me..AHAHA but its all good and fun they’re so cool!! LOL!! they’re like “WE FEEL AS IF WE’VE KNOWN YOU FOR 4 YEARS!! when its been 3 days..” LOL!! yup I guess thats the effect I give out to people AHAHA I’m joking =) camp was fun ^^ I always love bonding time with people and thats what happened yay!!
